Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov suggested that Russian historians justify the need for Poland to pay reparations to Russia. This is how he commented on Warsaw’s demands for reparations from Moscow for World War II.

Peskov said that in Poland “a number of politicians are involved in unhealthy political extremism.”

“Maybe our historians need to dig into the 16th century, maybe we will also find something that we can ask the Poles,” he told reporters.

Earlier, the Polish Sejm approved a resolution demanding reparations from Germany in the amount of about $1.3 trillion. At the same time, Polish President Andrzej Duda, supporting the resolution, called for reparations from Russia as well.
