Senator Alexey Pushkov responded to the words of State Department adviser Amos Hochstein, who demanded that Russia increase gas supplies through Ukraine to Europe.
“What Russia should and should not do is up to Russia itself, and certainly not to a bureaucrat from the State Department,” Pushkov wrote in his telegram channel.
He noted that gas supplies are a complex equation, it must be solved through negotiations and compromises. Those who think differently should “learn diplomacy”.
Hochstein previously spoke about the requirements of the State Department to increase gas supplies to Europe through the territory of Ukraine as soon as possible. The reason was the lack of own energy reserves in European countries.
