Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking to reporters, called the explosions on the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines tragic events.
The Russian leader noted at the same time that the authorities in Europe pretend that nothing significant has happened.
“Europeans,… as almost always happens, they shut their mouths, they are silent, as if this is the way it should be, despite the fact that this really undermines their interests at the root,” Putin added.
He also called the version voiced in the EU that Russia itself blew up the gas pipelines impudent.
“It’s hard to imagine that someone thought of it… to such nonsense. Nevertheless, they come up with all this nonsense,” the President of the Russian Federation summed up.
