Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during telephone talks with US President Joe Biden, indicated that Moscow could completely sever relations between the countries if the promised “massive unprecedented sanctions” were introduced.
This was announced by the assistant to the head of the Russian state Yuri Ushakov.According to him, Putin noted that this would be a major mistake.
Ushakov stressed that the essence of the last conversation was to continue the exchange of views on issues that Russia “seriously cares about.”
The journalists clarified what is meant when talking about a possible “severance of ties with the West.” Ushakov replied that while this does not imply anything, it is not known what “large-scale sanctions” are.
