Ex-lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Fund (FBK, an extremist organization banned in Russia, recognized as a foreign agent) Lyubov Sobol flew away from the Russian Federation. This happened five days after she was sentenced to 1.5 years of restriction of freedom.

Interestingly, she had no right to leave Moscow and the Moscow region. However, according to REN, Sobol flew to Istanbul from Vnukovo Airport. This allegedly happened on the evening of August 7. In Turkey, she will make a transfer, and then go to another country. It is not yet known which one.

Earlier, the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow found Sobol guilty of inciting a violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules during the action on January 23, 2021. For this, she was restricted for a year and six months.

According to the court’s decision, she was not allowed to leave the house from 22.00 to 6 am, and was also forbidden to change her permanent place of residence without notifying the authorities. She is also not allowed to travel outside of Moscow and the Moscow region without the permission of law enforcement agencies.

Sobol’s lawyer, Vladimir Voronin, promised to appeal the verdict. The lawyer herself categorically does not recognize herself guilty and considers the arguments of the prosecution unfounded and untenable.
