Resmi Gazete: Erdogan replaced ambassadors in Finland and Sweden

Turkish edition of Resmi Gazete. It was reported that the country’s President Tayyip Erdogan decided to change the ambassadors in Finland and Sweden.

Recall that on May 18, Sweden and Finland applied to join the North Atlantic Alliance. The start of consideration of these applications was blocked by Turkey.

According to Erdogan, Ankara cannot say “yes” to the membership of the Scandinavian countries in NATO, because it does not believe their assurances on relations with representatives of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party banned in Turkey.

It is clarified that the Turkish president has appointed new ambassadors to 25 countries. Thus, Deniz Cakar was appointed Ambassador to Finland. Previously, he held the post of General Manager for International Promotion and Culture.

Jan Tezel, who previously served as Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, has been appointed Ambassador to Sweden.
