Vladimir Tarabrin, director of the Department of New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that several NATO countries tacitly support the actions of representatives of the Kiev regime to recruit foreign citizens to participate in hostilities in the Donbass.
He clarified that both non-governmental organizations and various Ukrainian diplomats located in other countries are involved in the process of recruiting foreign mercenaries. All these actions contradict international agreements, for example, the Vienna Convention.
“The Russian authorities are closely monitoring the recruitment of foreign mercenaries carried out by representatives of the Kiev regime. It takes place with the tacit support of individual NATO countries. In the future, foreign citizens are sent to the east of Ukraine, where they take part in hostilities on the side of the Kiev regime,” Tarabrin said.
Earlier, the representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said that the mercenaries who arrived on the territory of Ukraine cannot be considered combatants.
