The Czech Republic is considering sending police or military personnel to the border of Poland and Belarus. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the country Andrei Babish following the meeting of the Visegrad Quartet in Budapest.

Prague expresses readiness to help Warsaw in curbing the flow of illegal migrants from the territory of Belarus. Babish called the behavior of the Belarusian authorities unacceptable and called for the introduction of sanctions against Minsk as soon as possible.

However, the head of the Czech government also noted that so far the Czech Republic has not received a request for assistance by military or police forces from Poland. At the same time, Prague noted that the country’s president Milos Zeman also supports this initiative, since he considers the border of Poland and Belarus to be the border of Europe and NATO.
