According to the MTV Uutiset agency, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto stated the need for Helsinki and Stockholm to join NATO at the same time in order to avoid a “possible crisis.”
According to him, the Turkish authorities “made a small difference” between Finland and Sweden in the issue of joining the North Atlantic Alliance, which may aggravate the existing difficult political situation.
“If it does not work out to join the alliance at the same time, … we will have to think about what to do next,” Haavisto stressed.
