The Sixth Fleet of the US Navy sent the flagship Mount Whitney to the Black Sea. In the water area, he will conduct joint maneuvers with NATO forces. This is reported in the official Twitter account of the Sixth Fleet.
“The flagship of the [US] Sixth Fleet, Mount Whitney, has begun its northward passage in the Black Sea to conduct operations with our allies and NATO partners in the region,” the report says.
Earlier, the command of the American Fleet announced plans to send a command ship to the Black Sea with US officers and NATO joint naval forces support forces. The date of the ship’s departure was not called.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on this statement, noted that the demonstration of the flag of the American fleet will not add stability to the situation in the world.
