The Kremlin commented on the “non-admission of blockaders” to the cemetery because of Putin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the information that appeared in a number of media outlets that on Thursday, January 27, residents of St. Petersburg complained about the closure of the Piskarevsky Cemetery due to commemorative events with the participation of President Vladimir Putin. In particular, photos of people at the fence of the cemetery began to spread on social networks, watching the head of state go to lay flowers inside. It was also claimed that among those who were allegedly not allowed into the cemetery, there were blockaders.

Peskov stated to the “Rise” that the traffic around the cemetery was not blocked and citizens were freely allowed to enter the territory.

“Insignificant only asked to wait when Putin laid flowers”, — Peskov added.

He noted that “and then it was very fast”, took no more than 10 minutes.

“Then everyone continued calmly,” concluded the representative of the president. — Therefore, this is not true”.

Today, on the Day of lifting the siege of Leningrad, Putin laid a wreath at the monument “Mother Motherland” at the Piskarevsky Memorial Cemetery. According to the Kremlin’s press service, the president “honored the memory of the fallen soldiers-liberators and residents of the city”.
