28 Americans were taken out of Kabul on a charter flight of the Qatari airline Qatar Airways. This was announced by the representative of the US State Department Ned Price. In addition to the citizens of the United States, there were 7 people on board with a residence permit of this country. The Qatari authorities coordinated their dispatch.
Price added that the Taliban (members of an organization that is recognized as a terrorist organization in the Russian Federation and is banned) are willing to cooperate in the evacuation of American citizens. And the United States is ready to continue this interaction.
The Taliban entered Kabul on August 15 and the next day declared that the war was over. For the last two weeks of the summer, the Kabul airport was under the protection of the US military. From there, there was a mass evacuation of foreigners and Afghans who collaborated with them. On the night of August 31, the US military left the Kabul airport.
