After the suspension of the Russian Federation’s participation in the grain deal, the UN is in contact with Moscow. This was announced by the official representative of the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric.
The diplomat noted that the UN has been informed about the suspension of participation in the grain deal due to the attack on the Black Sea Fleet. The international organization is in contact with the Russian authorities on this issue, Dujarric said.
According to the UN representative, it is now important to preserve the humanitarian initiative, which he called “the most important”. The UN noted that the grain deal provided access to food for millions of people around the world.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev announced the readiness of our country to transfer 500 thousand tons of grain to the poorest countries of the world free of charge.
