Ukrainians who have moved to Wales will start paying for part of meals and laundry services from the New Year. The Welsh decided to resort to such measures to integrate refugees into society as soon as possible. The innovations were reported by the publication Wales Online.

They will affect migrants living in temporary housing in Wales for five or more weeks. Now about one and a half thousand Ukrainians are settled in hotels and recreation centers. According to the new norms, migrants can now refuse to move to long-term housing only twice. If they refuse again, they will have to bear part of the living costs.

According to the Welsh government, such steps will encourage refugees to move to private housing. Now, according to unconfirmed reports, some Ukrainians refuse such placement under plausible pretexts.

Earlier, Poland announced its intention to change the conditions of assistance to Ukrainian migrants. There, the abuse of the social insurance system among migrants pushed the local authorities to take decisive steps
