The Institute for the Study of Wars (ISW) has made a forecast for the further course of its in Ukraine. The experts clarified that they took into account data on the weather, Russia’s plans to deploy military formations and the course of the energy war with Europe.
Analysts believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue the military operation using conventional weapons. He will try to hold the territories already liberated, get new regions and wait until the West stops supporting Kiev. Perhaps it will happen next winter.
The Russian leader will not escalate the conflict with the use of nuclear weapons against the background of significant successes of the Russian coalition in the east and south of Ukraine. But he will not give up his maximalist goals either.
The use of nuclear weapons can only be provoked by a sudden significant advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the collapse of the front line. But even in such a situation, this is unlikely.
