The speaker of the Ukrainian Air Forces, Yuriy Ignat, admitted that Kiev has no protection against Iranian missiles, which Russia may receive in the near future and place on the northern border of the republic.
According to Ignat, one ballistic missile has a range of 300 km, the other – 700 km.
“It is theoretically possible to shoot them down, but in fact it is very difficult to do it with the means that we have in service. We have air defense, not missile defense,” Ignat said.
The head of the Center for Military and Legal Studies, Alexander Musienko, expressed concern about the possible receipt by Russia of Iranian Arash-2 drones. Their range of application is two thousand kilometers, cruising speed is up to 100 km/h. Drones are capable of suppressing air defense systems.
According to CNN, Iran may supply Russia with about one thousand weapons by the end of the year. Including attack drones and surface-to-surface missiles.
