German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that it is impossible to rule out the introduction of new sanctions by the United States against the Nord Stream-2. His words are quoted by Bloomberg. 

“I wouldn’t say there won’t be anything else,” Maas said when asked about possible restrictions.

The minister noted that in the United States, the main political forces are not very positive about the gas pipeline. At the same time, in his opinion, the discussions that have taken place in recent weeks give reason to hope for reaching agreements.

The Nord Stream 2 project involves the construction of two strands of a gas pipeline across the Baltic Sea, from the coast of Russia to Germany. In December 2019, the United States imposed sanctions on the gas pipeline. In May 2021, the White House refused to impose new restrictions, explaining this as unwillingness to spoil relations with Germany and the fact that the pipeline is almost completed.& nbsp;
