The Turkish Foreign Ministry commented on reports according to which the country allegedly buys grain illegally exported from Ukraine. In particular, in early June, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar stated that Turkey was allegedly among the countries that buy grain exported by Russia”.

As Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, Ankara takes such accusations seriously, therefore it conducted an investigation into the origin of the incoming grain. According to him, it is not difficult to track grain supply routes: “Anyone can buy an application [for tracking ships] for $5-6.”

Cavusoglu said that during the investigation it was established that “that the origin [of grain purchased from Russia] is Russia”. At the same time, he stressed that Turkey opposes the illegal sale on the international market of any goods illegally exported from Ukraine.

“And we do not allow their sale in Turkey”, – the minister added.
