The Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time acknowledged their responsibility for the explosions that occurred on August 9, 2022 at a military airfield near the city of Saki in the Crimea. This was stated by the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, and the first deputy head of the Rada Committee on Defense, Mikhail Zabrodsky, in an article published in Ukrinform.

According to the text of the article, the explosions at the airfield in Crimea allegedly occurred as a result of missile strikes by the Ukrainian army. Until recently, Kiev has not openly declared its involvement in the explosions on the territory of the airfield.

Zaluzhny and Zabrodsky in their article claim that in 2023 the fighting will continue. They called the seizure of Crimea one of the key tasks of the fighting. But, according to Zaluzhny and Zabrodsky, even the loss of Crimea will not lead to a decisive defeat of Russia, so Ukraine must strike deep into Russian territory.
