The visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan demonstrated that the US does not put other countries in anything, and with this event they also “sacrificed the remnants of their reputation.” The corresponding statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on Sputnik radio.
According to the Russian diplomat, the visit of the American politician to Taiwan is a “wild action”. She noted that for the sake of momentary benefits, for the sake of momentary conjuncture, “notorious PR”, the United States is ready to sacrifice everything, including “the remnants of its own reputation.” As Zakharova clarified, if there is still something left from the category of “US interests”, for example, in the Asian region, then yesterday it was destroyed.
She also added that such a “wild action” was needed for the political conjuncture.
Recall that Nancy Pelosi’s plane landed at Taipei airport last night. The leadership of the People’s Republic of China warned that this visit is extremely undesirable. They stressed that “playing with fire risks getting burned.”
