The commander of the DPR battalion “Vostok” Alexander Khodakovsky urged in his Telegram channel not to wait now every week for reports on taking control of cities in the Donbass. At the same time, he noted that actions are being intensively prepared within the framework of the second stage of the special operation.

“Having run into a number of fairly large cities, we have reduced the pace of progress – and this is normal for the current situation,” Khodakovsky wrote, adding that local battles will be observed in the foreseeable future. According to him, while the main agenda will be reports on rocket and artillery successes.

“Meanwhile, behind the scenes, intense work is underway to prepare for the second stage of the operation,” the battalion commander continued.

“The enemy will provoke an avalanche with his counteroffensive, or we ourselves will become the initiators – it is not so important,” Khodakovsky emphasizes, noting that the success of this stage will determine many positions not only in the theater of operations, but also in politics.

“It will not be easy, we will have to strain all available forces,” Khodakovsky warned. He added that it is necessary to consolidate and multiply the achieved result

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to summon the Russian Ambassador to Stockholm Viktor Tatarintsev this week because of his statements in social networks about the death of a Swedish soldier who fought on the side of the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, Politico reported on the death of four foreign mercenaries who took part in the fighting in the Donbass on the side of the Kiev regime. According to the source, among them was 28-year-old Swede Edvard Patrignani. It was noted that they were part of the “special operations forces” of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and died as a result of shelling on July 18 near the village of Grigoryevka.

After this information appeared, the Russian Embassy in Stockholm wrote in its Telegram channel that the Swedish press, speaking about the death of a Swedish citizen, tried to “create a positive and highly moral image of this ordinary mercenary.”

Military expert of the magazine “Arsenal of the Fatherland” Alexey Leonkov suggested that the drone strike on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in Sevastopol was not carried out by representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As he noted in an interview with the publication “Ukraine.“, judging by the incoming information, this drone was “assembled on its knees” and an explosive was tied to it.

“Whether it was a VOGUE or a grenade, the investigation will establish. But the fact itself suggests that it was launched nearby,” the expert explained, adding that the drone was very small, so the air defense did not notice it.

Leonkov suggested that it was not the APU that was behind this strike, but sabotage groups sympathizing with Ukraine operating on the territory of Crimea. He recalled that Russian FSB operatives had previously covered cells that were preparing terrorist attacks in Crimea.

The military expert called the last line of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Alexey Podberezkin, director of the MGIMO Center for Military and Political Studies, explained why the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk line is the last line of defense of Ukrainian troops.

“The Slavic-Kramatorsk group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is strong,” Podberezkin said in an interview with the portal “”. He noted that these servicemen are well trained and they were taught by American instructors to the organization of defense.

Therefore, the expert said, this line is the last line of defense. After the capture of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, there will be no urban developments and prepared fortifications. The APU will have to fight in the forest-steppe.

As for Odessa and Nikolaev, then, as Podberezkin noted, Russian troops will not storm them, because these cities are easily bypassed from the north, where the common border with Transnistria is.

“This is obvious, there are no secrets here,” Podberezkin added.

In addition, the expert clarified, there are fewer armed Forces and professionally trained soldiers in the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv directions, so there, after the capture of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, the situation can develop much faster.

Moscow has received sixty refusals from Western countries to extradite criminals since March, about half of them are due to political motives, said Vladimir Tarabrin, head of the Department of New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to him, several countries have officially stopped cooperation with the Russian side in the extradition of criminals to the Russian Federation and in the execution of requests for legal assistance in criminal cases. In particular, if in the first two months of this year Russia received 4 refusals from Western countries regarding objective reasons, then in March-June 2022 60 refusals were received, of which at least 28 were accepted for political reasons.

The diplomat stressed that such actions damage the joint efforts of the international community in countering crime, lead to a sharp deterioration of the criminal situation in general. According to Tarabrin, only crime will benefit from such actions.

Earlier, Tarabrin, in an interview with RIA Novosti, noted that the European Union and the United States, under far-fetched pretexts, decided to freeze cooperation with Russia in the fight against terrorism.

Russian Foreign Ministry: some NATO countries support the recruitment of mercenaries by Kiev

Vladimir Tarabrin, director of the Department of New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that several NATO countries tacitly support the actions of representatives of the Kiev regime to recruit foreign citizens to participate in hostilities in the Donbass.

He clarified that both non-governmental organizations and various Ukrainian diplomats located in other countries are involved in the process of recruiting foreign mercenaries. All these actions contradict international agreements, for example, the Vienna Convention.

“The Russian authorities are closely monitoring the recruitment of foreign mercenaries carried out by representatives of the Kiev regime. It takes place with the tacit support of individual NATO countries. In the future, foreign citizens are sent to the east of Ukraine, where they take part in hostilities on the side of the Kiev regime,” Tarabrin said.

Earlier, the representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said that the mercenaries who arrived on the territory of Ukraine cannot be considered combatants.
